Computer systems covers both hardware and software, however, in this program, the focus is on the software. Computer systems focuses on the design and computer development, computing technique and its usage in information processing.
Research in computer architecture will give an understanding towards its physical structure, components and functions. This understanding is important in order for the computer, which acts as the storage and information processing devices, to be used effectively. To process information, a notation or formalism to quote information structure and processing procedures needs to be provided. This leads to the development of programming languages that can be used to “memerihal” data structures, algorithm and program writing. In the real world, computer applications are complex and quite hard to produce. Therefore, a special programming technique is used to guarantee a success. Operating systems and compilers are also used to assist the task in producing a program or a software. Ample information and frequently processed brings towards to the development of file theoritical structure, database and information retrieval.
Current development shows that computer has become an important medium for communication. Some information are hidden and need to be controlled. In this contex, computer security plays an important role. Few advance aspects on the problems are studied under artificial intelligence, modeling and systems simulation, "pengiraan" theory and advance database usage. These aspects serve as a strong basis for those who wish to further their studies.
CURICULUM STRUCTURE
Courses are divided into two components, which are the major components and electives. Major components consist of 78 credits while electives consist of 22 credits.
